​​Joint Exhibition: Liechtenstein meets Vienna – Transnational Art Exchange Project arrives in Vienna

Following its successful launch at Atelier 62, hosted by Ursula Wolf in Schaan, artist Yoly Maurer has brought this art exchange project to the Schönbrunn Art Salon in Vienna.

The heartfelt desire of the two artists, Ursula Wolf and Yoly Maurer—representatives of the professional associations of visual artists, Visarte Liechtenstein and the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Austria (BV)—to initiate a cross-border exchange between female artists and their works has now reached its first successful conclusion at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. Yoly Maurer also embodies the idea of transnational solidarity as a person, as she is a Swiss national living in Vienna and not only a member of the BV board but also a member of Visarte Liechtenstein, enabling her to speak on behalf of and advocate for Liechtenstein artists in Vienna.
The theme “IDENTITIES,” explored by the six artists—Klara Frick, Lilian Hasler, Ursula Wolf (LI), Linda Gaenszle, Yoly Maurer, and Renate Polzer (AT)—through one painting and one object each, was perceived by visitors in a wide variety of ways. In addition, the individual statements of the artists were illuminated from a musical perspective through a flute improvisation by the renowned flutist and professor of early music, Michael Posch.
The following day, art enthusiasts were treated to an introduction to the individual works by art historian Dr. Gabriela Koschatzky-Elias and a conversation with the artists.
Vienna experienced a fascinating exchange art project in an imperial setting.
