It began as a project by Visarte Liechtenstein as part of the 2024 Triennial. The artist collective, comprising Katharina Bierreth-Hartungen, Dagmar Frick-Islitzer, Yoly Maurer, Toni Ochsner, and Angelika Steiger, presented works at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein that explored the question of what will still be essential in the year 2050.
The question is more relevant than ever, and so YOLY is organizing the exhibition’s move from Liechtenstein to Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace.
From September 18 to 27, 2026, the collective’s works will not only be on display at the Schönbrunn Art Salon but will also be thematically highlighted through a special accompanying program.

With this group exhibition, Visarte Liechtenstein is focusing on community: the emphasis is on collaborative work, and the focus is less on the finished piece and more on the creative process of working together.
Textile Metamorphoses Between Dream and Reality
The installation presents the human body as a fragmented system situated between dream, material, and commodity. Textile objects combine surrealist imagery with a critical perspective on the body within today’s logic of consumption and exploitation.
The space becomes a department-store-like staging in which body parts appear as products—isolated, multiplied, and rearranged.
At the center is the textile as a medium between protection, adaptation, and transformation. Oversized, deformed, or fused fragments oscillate between the familiar and the uncanny.
Building on surrealist positions, the body is no longer shown as a unit, but as a dissectable, exploitable material—a mutable system between identity and otherness.
