Yoly, together with her Viennese artist colleagues Heide Breuer, Ulrike Chladek, Linda Gaenszle, Eva Indrak, Tonia Kos and Renate Polzer, worked intensively on the «Paradigmenwechsel» (paradigm shift) that is often talked about today (paradigm shift = upheaval, turning point, fundamental rethinking, change in world view, beginning of a new era). The two- and three-dimensional works they created for this purpose were presented for the first time at a vernissage on February 19th in the Galerie Am Park.
Yoly Maurer's contribution is called «InProgress» and describes the progression of a process, both with personal intervention and through unstoppable external influences. With personal change through overpainting, overwriting, intervening in the painting process of one or more people, the picture changes at short intervals. By constantly questioning what is there and "correcting again and again", the process can be experienced; It can also be made visible again by removing layers of paint going back a long way.
