​DAS MAHL (the meal)
​The book describes the process of creating the work of art, provides insight into YOLY's thoughts on the forms and symbols used and shows the collaboration of representatives of the world religions.

Reconciliation as the basis for peaceful coexistence
The work of the artist YOLY is characterized by an intensive examination of the basic values of human life. Peace, reconciliation, togetherness, mutual understanding and the desire to understand are as important today as they were in the past and are the basis for a future worth living in the entire world.
The metaphor THE MEAL that YOLY has chosen is multifaceted. A peaceful meal requires a desire to be together, requires reconciliation, mutual respect, but also joy. A meal can be the prerequisite for a new beginning and is the basis for mutual understanding.

The thoughts of twelve religious communities are shown in twelve pictures; they have expressed in their part of the picture what seems essential to them.
The joining, highlighting, painting over, underlining that YOLY carries out in the next step to complete the work of art is more than an artistic act, it is also a philosophical, scientific process that is preceded by intensive engagement with religion, culture and science.
It is ultimately the creative genius of the artist that puts the parts together to form a whole. I would like to conclude with another sentence from YOLY: “Twelve parts connected by the middle, carrying heaven within themselves, but each part also independent and contributing to a whole with its own character - O VERUM CORPUS”.

​​The book presents the plays performed in the virtual «Corona Island Theater» initiated by YOLY in printed form for viewing and reading.

Corona, the popular name for COVID-19, suddenly put a stop to individual societies, an abrupt break.
Corona - synonym for the crown, the wreath, the rosary... an ambiguous term.
People stayed in their boxes, hidden behind masks, withdrawn and protected from dangerous encounters. Behind the mask they waited for the hoped-for return of what was once familiar and hoped for the crown of victory over loss of existence, illness and death.
During this phase, the «Corona Island Theater» was created as a creative place full of stories. YOLY invited fellow artists from the fields of fine art, photography, music and literature to perform this virtual play together with her and under her direction.
She writes: «Like a production, everything takes place in front of and behind the curtain, the mask of our lives ... the theater behind the mask, the spectacle surrounding the crown ...». 

​am Tag als ... (​on the day as ...)
My works each focus on an aspect of social life, comparable to Ludwig Wittgenstein's intention to reflect the word, language in relation to being, reality.
The Corona period makes the content of some of my pre-Corona works even more intense.
This time of "being thrown back on oneself", of sudden silence, of the forced caesura, of no longer being allowed to present one's work freely and the associated existential fear, forces the artists, society, to a short-term standstill.
My exhibitions have been canceled ... despite long, intensive and costly preparations.
The leap into the virtual world and its possibilities to express myself and make myself noticeable must be used.

One of my ways of capturing feelings and thoughts is based on the mind's eye... sketching and writing down this mind's eye - preparing these sketches for later implementation via photomontages - or even implementing and photographing such mind's eye images in nature... The result of showing my lockdown mind's eye to those interested is this book.
